Through over 50 years of experience with working with the brain, cognition and speech therapies our team of specialists has helped hundreds of patients – from children to adults using our proven methodologies.
Sharon Pollack, CCC-SLP, CBIST, Director
Sharon R. Pollack received her B.A. from the University of Florida and her M.A. in Speech Pathology and Audiology from the University of Memphis. Sharon started her career as a Speech Language Pathologist at Baptist Memorial Hospital specializing in neurology and language. While there, she developed an acute care speech/language therapy department, and established protocols for diagnosing and treating dysphagia and cognitive disorders. During that time she also founded a family education and support group for patients in the neurological wing.
In 1985, Sharon opened a private practice in East Memphis specializing in neurological, cognitive and language deficits. She diagnoses and treats a variety of learning disabilities including deficits in auditory/visual processing, language processing (speech therapy), cognition, reading, writing, working memory and executive functioning. Sharon has been a provider of the Fast ForWord Programs since its inception, working closely with the scientists who developed them. She has a computer lab where these and other computer programs are administered.
Sharon’s goals are to enrich the lives of others by increasing their self-confidence and fundamental cognitive and language skills necessary to achieve academic/professional success and strengthen social interactions.
Sharon is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist Trainer. She is very involved in the Local Brain Injury Support Group. Sharon has been a speaker at the Memphis Brain Injury Conferences and more recently has presented at a local workshop titled “Traumatic Brain Injury and Helping Students Succeed”. In addition, she has been a presenter at the Visionary Conferences and has provided many in-service programs/workshops to both private and public schools.
Charlotte Schultz, CCC-SLP, Supervisor
Charlotte Schultz graduated from Newcomb College with a B.A. degree in French. She received a Master of Arts degree from the University of Memphis in Oral Interpretation and Rhetoric. After working as a manager and co-owner of the Round Table Bookstore for fourteen years, she returned to the University of Memphis and obtained a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and also became a Licensed and Certified Speech-Language Pathologist. Charlotte has been working with Sharon Pollack since 1996. She has a passion for working with those who have difficulty with vocabulary, reading/reading comprehension, verbal and written language skills, and articulation. Charlotte is also very effective in teaching students organizational and study skills.
